Mary Jane “MJ” Barretta

Mary Jane is a seasoned real estate agent who has been actively involved in Monmouth Ocean Regional Realtors as a member of the Education and the Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity Committees.  She is equally committed to community service and currently serves as Treasurer of the Woman’s Club of Brielle and as Vice President of the Union Landing Historical Society.  Mary Jane’s on going participation in continuing education to improve her skills as an agent is impressive.  In addition to her having earned her broker’s license and several real estate designations, she recently became a member of the Institute for Luxury Marketing.   

What stands out about Mary Jane is her willingness to help others. She is using her planning skills to put together a diverse committee for a feasibility study for a “compassionate community” for adult children with severe autism.  The goal is to find a way for parents to remain close to their children after they can no longer care for them in their own homes.  In such communities, parents working together as a board, can manage the community and ensure that their children will always be well cared for.  Because we know New Jersey has growing numbers of young adults with autism and parents who are concerned about their future, we will give progress reports from time to time.
